Kamehameha III Summer Palace
This summer home or palace was built in Nuuanu Valley about 1844 by Kamehameha III. On July 21st, 1847, It was the site of the largest luau ever held in Hawaii, with over 10,000 in attendance. It is now as you see it, a ruin buried in the rain forest, but still envokes powerful images of the way it was many years ago.
